Tasting Notes

Nose

Thick and fruity, with an initial hit of lemon and lime turned around by apple pie, singed pastry and a crunchy caramel top. Raisins and dry roasted spices slowly develop, along with juicy berry fruit – raspberries and cherries – and prunes.

Palate

Amrut sweetness and spice appears at the start, with tropical fruit and cinnamon rolling across the palate. That is quickly replaced by rich red fruit – raspberry jam and fresh cherries – and cinnamon toast. Roasted bananas and raisins appear briefly on the mid palate, before brioche and cinnamon toast take over.

Finish

Long and fruity, with oaky spice, coconut and lashings of vanilla cream.

Comment

A whisky that ably combines Amrut’s fruity and spicy spirit with classic character from new oak, bourbon and port casks – this truly is a port pipe sandwich.
