Bonneuil 2005

Bonneuil 2005 bottle

70cl, 43% ABV

Bonneuil 2005 is an unblended cognac from a single harvest, providing the purest and most accurate expression of the Grande Champagne’s chalky terroir. This rare Cognac is deliberately released young and fresh, to be as close as possible to wine itself and reveal the distinct character of the soils from which the vines draw their identity. It is a highly collectible Cognac, as only 18 casks are produced and each of the 450 bottles is numbered.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Fresh with gentle herbal note – green but not overly so. Autumn leaves develop, accompanied fresh figs, vanilla and a touch of creaminess.

Palate

Elegant and zesty, with notes of fresh figs and Autumn leaves from the nose joined by green apple and a touch of forest floor rancio. Rich and spicy oak the arrives, but provides a balanced supporting role.

Finish

Clean and fruity, balancing the fresh fig notes against spicy oak.

Comment

Zesty and refreshing – a perfect counterpoint to the more traditional Christmas spice notes so often found in Cognacs.
