Tasting Notes

Nose

Complex, with an almost Irish-whiskey fresh fruitiness - tropical fruit salad, red berries, cherries and baked apples. Woody spice, and darker notes of leather, dried fruit and smoky tea sit at the back with balancing sweet vanilla.

Palate

The vanilla comes to the front, but sweetness is tempered by oak spices - cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, and a hint of wood smoke. The fruit is more restrained than the nose, with dried and baked fruit notes providing a rich backbone.

Finish

Dry oaky spice quickly gives way to orchard fruit and lingering sweetness.

Comment

A rich and well-balanced blended malt, with all the flavours you'd hope for - spice, sweetness and incredible Japanese fruitiness. A multi-award winning whisky for a reason.
