Sweet, with candy necklaces and Love Hearts joined by honeysuckle and a gentle touch of sour lemon. Notes of apple develop – both sweet and floury apples as well as intensely flavoured boiled sweets.
An initial creaminess is swept into the background by sweet and sour fruit – apples, crunchy pears, unripe pineapple, mango and hints of banana. Sharp clove spice sits behind that, with tannic fruit skin dryness at the very back.
Very long. Sweet and grainy, with damp leaves and liquorice.
Fresh and fruity, but with enough darkness and spice behind to make this an excellent all-round whisky.
