Tasting Notes

Nose

Intensely fruity, with an estery kick. Concentrated banana essence, apples, pear drops, new leather and cloves. Crunchy caramel notes develop around the sides, with hints of vanilla toffee, aniseed twists and nutmeg-spiced cake batter.

Palate

Thick and spicy, with cinnamon fireballs rolling down the centre of the tongue. Buttery notes build, along with darker notes of fruit cake and liquorice. Damp oak and dark chocolate build through the centre.

Finish

Egg custard tarts and dark chocolate fade to leave baked apples sprinkled with cinnamon.

Comment

A game of two halves, with an intensely fruity nose leading into a richer and darker palate than expected.
