Nikka Pure Malt Black is testament to one of the earliest Japanese whiskies and consists primarily of malt whiskies produced at the Yoichi distillery. It has a solid, bold taste, rich in flavour.
Pure Malt Red is made primarily with Miyagikyo malts and is soft, delicate and fruity on the palate.
To complete the series, the Pure Malt White was produced using heavily peated malts from both distilleries and it was bold, powerful, rich and smoky in character. Unfortunately, this product is now discontinued.
Each bottling has been carefully blended to satisfy specific flavour preferences and as such the Pure Malt series of whiskies are a great introduction to the varying styles of Japanese whisky.
