Nose

Fruity and complex, with sweet honey and freshly sliced orchard fruit complemented by some dried fruit – dates and raisin. As the whisky sits in the glass a delicate smokiness develops.

Palate

Rich and sweet, with candied fruit at the front and dried fruit at the back, with a round and creamy texture. A hint of sharp orange zest fades through the centre of the palate, replaced by a puff of smoke and a splash of sea water.

Finish

Quite sweet, with noticeable smoke. The smokiness fades to leave a hint of citrus and soft spice.

Comment

A well-made blend that sits at the core of the Nikka range. Gently smoky and with enough intensity of flavour to be enjoy over ice as well as neat.
