Waterford Cuvee

Waterford Cuvee bottle

70cl, 50% ABV

Inspired by Bordeaux's greatest Chateaux, Waterford have blended together 25 of their Single Farm Origin Single Malts into one unique bottling. Marrying terroir-derived flavours for an ultimate complexity that is not only textured but compelling.

This dynamic assemblage results in a whisky with notes of red apples, lavender, digestive biscuits, oranges, fresh mint and coffee cake, with a distinctivly oily, textured palate that delivers grapefruit, lemon zest, dark chocolate and cherries with an extraordinary length of flavour.

A celebration of complexity, achieved by a collection of individual terroirs. A bespoke label, commissioned from artist Leah Hewson perfectly embodies the concept.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Fruit and spice: apple sauce, peach and plum with sultanas, nutmeg and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Spiced butter and vanilla fudge build alongside rhubarb and custard sweets, barley sugar and butterscotch.

Palate

Sharp apple leads, with balancing spiced vanilla fudge following shortly behind. Zingy lemon and spiced pastry follow, joined by crunchy toffee-apple sweetness and barley sugar. Grassy notes build through the middle, along with touches of sharp nectarine caramel sauce and rich milk chocolate.

Finish

Butterscotch and baking spice fade to leave creamy chocolate, fresh-cut grass and leafy twigs.

Comment

Rich and rounded, with a zingy fruitiness carefully balanced by creamy toffee notes.
