Waterford Luna is the world's first whisky made from biodynamically grown barley. Drawing upon ancient lore of lunar cycles and homegrown preparations, biodynamics seeks to charge the soil with vitality and the barley with vibrancy. It is used most often by the world's top winemakers and provides the plants with the best environment within which to grow. Three farmers; Trevor Harris, John McDonnel and Alan Mooney harvested their barley in Summer 2017 and it was distilled by Waterford in 2018. This unique whisky has incredible notes of apricot, milk chocolate brown sugar and dark, earthy barley. The palate is complex and beguiling with a finish that lingers on. |
