Port Askaig 25-Year-Old
Port Askaig 25-Year-Old Islay Single Malt is a limited-edition release from an undisclosed distillery, aged for at least 25 years. Carefully selected casks were chosen for their full-bodied texture and rich flavour. The whisky opens with notes of tanned leather, smoke, pineapple, mango, and guava. The palate reveals smoked meats, nutmeg, roasted nuts, and a touch of white pepper, finishing with woodsmoke and dried fruits. Bottled at 45.8% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and free of additives. Like other Port Askaig expressions, it offers a rich, tropical aroma, robust peat, and full texture, embodying the style of the brand.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Coal smoke meets tropical bursts of pineapple, lychee, and guava, mellowing into florals, peach, and burnt matchsticks.
Palate
The palate is rich with pastrami, saucisson, rye crackers, and chargrilled vegetables, alongside leather, nutmeg, and grapefruit.
Finish
A lingering finish of herbs and dry woodsmoke.
