Tasting Notes
Nose
Vanilla toffee, sweetened cream and lots of zesty lemon. There is a feisty youthfulness to the nose, but with sweet and rounded notes in place to provide balance – sultanas, light fruit cake and brown sugar.
Palate
Softer than the nose suggests, with more toffee, creamy fudge and sultanas, but still with a mouth-watering citrus note running through the centre – lemon zest, lemon cream and candied lemon peel.
Finish
Initially citrus-led, softening to lemon sponge cake and lingering sultana notes.
Comment
A well-balanced young Armagnac, with character from both spirit and ageing. It's perfectly at home in cocktails, long drinks or as a lightly chilled aperitif.
