Super Nikka Blended Whisky
One of Nikka's classic brands, Super Nikka Blended Whisky has been a top seller since it launched onto the market in 1962. Its luxuriant aroma, gentle hints of peat and scent of aged sherry casks are all in harmony, and its flavour is smooth, rounded and well-balanced.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Fruity and complex, with sweet honey and freshly sliced orchard fruit complemented by some dried fruit – dates and raisin. As the whisky sits in the glass a delicate smokiness develops.
Palate
Rich and sweet, with candied fruit at the front and dried fruit at the back, with a round and creamy texture. A hint of sharp orange zest fades through the centre of the palate, replaced by a puff of smoke and a splash of sea water.
Finish
Quite sweet, with noticeable smoke. The smokiness fades to leave a hint of citrus and soft spice.
Comment
A well-made blend that sits at the core of the Nikka range. Gently smoky and with enough intensity of flavour to be enjoy over ice as well as neat.
