Australian single malt whisky from the Starward Distillery in Melbourne, finished in casks that had previously held heavily peated whisky from Islay in Scotland.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Juicy tropical fruits including mangoes, pineapple and guava, along with rich coastal bonfires and dark chocolate.
Palate
Fresh raspberry and yellow peach with a distinct maritime character.
Finish
Long and drawn out with oaky spice, vanilla, and a touch of cracked black pepper.
Comment
A delicate balance between floral and coastal, this is a whisky in which Australia and Scotland collide.
