Tapatío Blanco 110
Created with bartenders in mind, this bold Tapatío expression is bottled at still strength, delivering an overproof tequila at 55% ABV (110 proof), the maximum permitted under Mexican regulations.
Undiluted and full of character, it showcases intense flavours of sweet, cooked agave, complemented by a rich, oily texture. On the nose, it is distinctly vegetal, with pronounced notes of cooked agave, while on the palate it is bright, vibrant and explosive.
A powerful and versatile spirit, it is particularly well suited to cocktails, where its strength and depth of flavour truly shine.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Sweet and savoury peppers - roasted capsicum and non-spicy padron. There is spiciness, but it comes from white pepper, the traditional agave hit, and is balanced by an underlying sweetness, which is almost white chocolate like.
Palate
Thick and oily on the palate, with a spicy kick to start – black pepper and chilli. With that comes sweet, roasted agave, cinnamon toast (with singed edges) and a surprisingly rich grape and sultana fruitiness.
Finish
The peppers from the nose return, turning from sweet to dry.
Comment
big, rich and surprisingly complex spirit, especially considering that it is fresh from the still. The extra strength over the blanco allows the flavours to sing.
