Blending is considered an art at Nikka and The Nikka Tailored is a super-premium blend with a smooth mouthfeel and delicious, toasted, fruit-driven flavours. The whisky consists of a perfectly balanced blend of malts from Nikka’s Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries and grain whisky distilled in Nikka’s heritage Coffey still. Maturation occurs predominantly in ex American oak casks and ex-sherry casks. The result is a rounded, balanced and soft whisky true to Nikka’s unique style.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Dried fruit and caramel sauce – raisins, sultanas and baked apples, drizzled with toffee and served on a polished oak plate. The fragrant fruity notes become waxy and the toffee becomes brown-sugar-dusted brioche with time in the glass.
Palate
Softer than expected from the nose, with fresher fruit notes at the front – apple and pear pies studded with sultanas. Spice builds, with nutmeg and freshly snapped cinnamon sticks joined by hints of clove and polished oak boards.
Finish
A burst of mint slowly fades to reveal linger cinnamon, oak and fresh apple.
Comment
A well-balanced combination of old wood and fresh fruit with spice notes connecting and joining the two.
