Los Siete Misterios Doba-Yej

Doba-Yej, meaning “Espadín agave” in the ancient Zapotec language spoken across much of Oaxaca, is Los Siete Misterios’ interpretation of a classic artisanal mezcal.
Produced exclusively from Espadín agave, it is crafted using traditional methods: cooked in earthen pit ovens, crushed with a tahona, naturally fermented and double distilled in copper alembic stills.
Doba-Yej is presented across three distinct labels, each representing a different producing family and region - Yautepec, San Dionisio and Santiago Matatlán. These labels, illustrated with heroes of Mexican independence, reflect the brand’s commitment to preserving the identity and heritage of each producer. The mezcals are never blended across families, allowing each expression to showcase its own unique terroir.
The result is a rich and well-balanced mezcal, with notes of sweet, cooked agave, dried red chilli and a gentle touch of smoke on the finish. Equally suited to sipping neat or elevating cocktails, it offers a versatile and authentic introduction to the category.
