Los Siete Misterios was founded in 2010 by brothers Julio and Eduardo Mestres, whose travels through Oaxaca sparked a deep connection to the traditions, culture and craftsmanship of their Mexican heritage. Inspired by these experiences, they set out to create a mezcal that bridges past and present.

The brand is built on close collaboration with a collective of Maestro Mezcaleros across Oaxaca’s central and southern valleys. Each expression in the range is crafted by different families, resulting in a diverse and authentic portfolio that reflects the unique character of each region and producer.

In Sola de Vega, ancestral production methods are preserved, and it is here that the Mestres learned to produce their own mezcal under the guidance of skilled Maestro Mezcaleros. At their palenque (artisanal distillery), they proudly present themselves as first-generation mezcaleros, with their mother, Doña Ángeles, and her husband, Don Eduardo, tending the agave fields and welcoming visitors to experience the process firsthand.

In the central valleys, multi-generational producers contribute to the range, creating a variety of artisanal styles including Espadín (Doba-Yej), Ensambles and Pechuga. Each mezcal is produced using traditional methods: agave is cooked underground, naturally fermented and distilled from fully mature plants, resulting in a collection of joven (unaged) mezcals that express the true essence of the category.
