With this expression, Los Siete Misterios pays homage to the Maestro Mezcaleros, families and communities who have shared their knowledge, experiences and traditions passed down through generations. This Pechuga mezcal is a celebration of friendship, collaboration and the collective effort to preserve Mexico’s rich mezcal heritage.
Produced with one of the three families behind Doba-Yej, this expression reflects the pride and deep connection the producers have with their Oaxacan roots. Crafted as an artisanal mezcal from Espadín agave, it undergoes a third distillation, during which turkey breast, seasonal fruits and spices are added to create a unique and evolving expression.
The ingredients are carefully selected by Eduardo and Julio’s mother, Doña Ángeles, alongside Maestra Mezcalera Doña Sabina, at her family’s palenque. With only one production made each year and a recipe that changes with every batch, this Pechuga is a truly special and limited expression.
The label features a Quetzal-phoenix, inspired by the Quetzal - a rare and revered bird native to Central America and southern Mexico. The design represents the bird’s spirit rising from the agave, honouring the life and sacrifice that forms part of this traditional mezcal ritual.
Flavour profile and ABV vary from batch to batch, but each release offers a distinctive and luxurious character. Expect an expressive profile of fresh herbs, pine, ripe fruit, candied dried fruits, sweet potato and warming sweet spices, complemented by a beautifully silky texture.
